This books was brilliant so it is hard to believe it came from one so young but very talented. The 18-year old author gives a fun, hard to put down book that is the first of a new trilogy. Three angels come down to a small town to fight the dark forces by doing random acts of kindness. It was things anyone can do but most of the time don’t for example working in a soup kitchen, visiting a nursing home, or donating to the good will store. I loved that Ivy would make scarfs to donate since they haven’t been Earth bound long enough to have old clothes.

She did a very nice job setting up a main core of characters. Gabriel is an Archangel but also acts like the protective older brother who is super hot. He gets a job as a music teacher at the local school so he has girls constantly drooling over him but he is so above trivial Ivy is the mother hen of the group. She is always doing small jobs around Venus Cove so people will start to help out too. Bethany is the youngest angel and the most human. It is her first time on Earth so she is overwhelmed by all the smells, sights, and touches. She becomes a student at the local high school and has a instant connection with the most popular boy, Xavier who is a sweetheart.

Bethany and Xavier’s relationship is fun loving but has some trouble when a bad boy transfers to the High School. Gabriel, Ivy, Bethany, and Xavier need to be careful with this one for he could be apart of the dark forces. Don’t mess with angels.

Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Venus Cove. But everything changes when three angels are sent from heaven to protect the town against the gathering forces of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. They work hard to conceal their true identity and, most of all, their wings. But the mission is threatened when the youngest angel, Bethany, is sent to high school and falls in love with the handsome school captain, Xavier Woods. Will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize they are not the only supernatural power in Venus Cove. There′s a new kid in town and he′s charming, seductive and deadly. Worst of all, he′s after Beth.

Sort of. The main character is Ciara Griffin's first cousin once removed, Mary Cassidy O'Riley ("Cassie" for short) a sixteen-year-old member of one of the South Carolina Irish Traveler groups. Ciara's Traveler relatives figure prominently in Book Four, Let it Bleed, which will be out next August. Cassie will also appear in that book, because I'm completely incapable of creating a character without needing to explore their lives in-depth. (This is another reason why I rarely do short stories--I fall in love way too easily.) But the story is by no means required for reading the series, and vice versa.”

It's an important story in the Morganville series told from Eve’s POV that fits between GHOST TOWN and BITE CLUB.

Set in her Evernight Universe but should read the short story “Free” in Immortal first.
From Claudia’s blog, “Some of you read the anthology IMMORTAL, which came out a couple of years ago and told the origin story for Patrice from EVERNIGHT, Bianca’s first and most glamorous roommate. Although Patrice didn’t appear in the last two books, she’s one of my favorite characters; basically, I figured if I didn’t have really fabulous stuff for her to do, she would rather spend her time in Scandinavia with a hot guy named Thor. But Patrice is about to return, and she’s got plenty of awesome stuff to do now — and information Bianca and Lucas would really like to have — but I digress. Even before her return in AFTERLIFE, you can read more about Patrice (specifically, her dramatic history during World War II) in the sequel to IMMORTAL: the BenBella anthology ETERNAL.
