Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev

Eyes Like Stars: Theatre Illuminata, Act I
By Lisa Mantchev

All Her World's A Stage

Bertie Shakespeare Smith is not an actress, yet she lives in a theather.
She's not an orphan, but she has no parents.
She knows every part, but she has no lines of her own.
That is, until now.

This is Lisa debut novel and it is truely orignal and witty. I loved the way it is set in a theatre and some times written like a play. The heroine Bertie bedroom is on the stage and her family are characters we have read for years.

My favorite characters are the fairies from A Midsummer Night's Dream, Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth, and Mustardseed. The three boys cause trouble and chaos and Peaseblossom tries to help keep them in line except when she moons the stage manager. Though they cause a mess they love and protect Bertie.
