Lisa Kleypas's Christmas with Holly

One of my favorite things about the Holidays is Hallmark's Movies. This year the one I am most excited for is the premiere of Lisa Kleypas's Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor which has been renamed for the movie version as Christmas with Holly on Sunday December 9th at 8pm. Check out Hallmark's sneak peek on their website.

"Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Christmas with Holly resonates with romance and humor.

Maggie Conway has HAD it with big-city living, especially after being left at the altar. She moves to the small town of Friday Harbor in Washington State, finally realizing her dream of opening a toy store—and meets Mark Nagle, the proprietor of the local coffee shop. It’s not quite love at first sight, but almost!

Mark’s number one priority, though, is his six-year-old niece, Holly, whose single mom has recently passed away and left him as her guardian. He’s moved in with his two brothers to help him raise Holly. He’s also involved romantically with Shelby—a relationship that’s going nowhere. Maggie and her toy store prove to be the magical key to opening Holly’s heart after her loss.

As you can guess, these complicated lives intertwine. You’ll meet them and you’ll fall in love with them in Christmas with Holly, Sunday, December 9, 2012, on ABC.

Christmas with Holly stars Sean Faris, Eloise Mumford, Daniel Eric Gold, Dana Watkins, Catherine Bèrubè, Alex Paxton-Beesley and Lucy & Josie Gallina as Holly."

Breaking Dawn: Part 2 Movie Review

We all have been waiting years to see the finale of the Twilight Saga on the big screen. Since I have read the books multiples I was happy to see my expectations of the movie was not dissappointed.

1.) I loved the facial expressions Edward (Robert Pattinson made during some of the scenes).

2.) I loved how they did the ending credits with anyone who was in any of the Twilight movies with their pictures. It was a sweet way of the ending of the Twilight Saga, not just Breaking Dawn: Part 2. I also that it was a nice touch that for Bella, Edward, and Jacob they put up their introduction pages from the Twilight book since this all started with the first book.

3.) I am still totally Team Charlie and Emmett. They have the best lines in all the movies that make me laugh.

4.) I like who they showed they quick growth of Renesmee with Carlisle marking in against the wall ruler. Very creative.

5.) I loved the End Credits song by Nikki Reed and her husband American Idol contestant Paul McDonald.
Check out Yahoo Music for their other songs and interview.

Waiting on Wednesday: Wild Invitation

Nalini Singh is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait for her collection of Psy-Changeling novellas in Wild Invitation: 4 stories in which 2 previously published and 2 brand spanking new! Set for release March 5, 2013.

Beat of Temptation (#0.5, Psy/changeling) was originally published in An Enchanted Season. Stroke of Enticement, (#3.5, Psy/changeing) was originally published in The Magical Christmas Cat. I have read both of these and love them so I will love to read them again.

In Beat of Temptation , innocent Tamsyn has always had a place in her heart for Nathan, a blooded DarkRiver sentinel. But is she ready for the fierce demands of the mating bond?

In Stroke of Enticement , a wary young teacher, skeptical about love, arouses the man—and the animal—in an aggressive leopard changeling who must prove his affections are true.

Plus 2 NEVER BEFORE PUBLISHED NOVELLAS

In Declaration of Courtship , Grace, a shy submissive wolf, finds herself pursued by the last man she ever would have imagined: a SnowDancer lieutenant said to be “mad, bad, and dangerous to know.”

In Texture of Intimacy, SnowDancer healer Lara discovers the searing joys—and unexpected challenges—of being mated to quiet, powerful Walker, a man used to keeping his silence.

The first big item was the movie has a director.

Casting:
Second, Shailene Woodley is in negotiations to play Tris.
I think she looks the part and even though I haven't seen her act much

Early Review: Silver Mine (Takhini Wolves, #2)

By Vivian Arend
Releases September 11, 2012
Source: Review copy provided by Vivian Arend for review.

Vivian Arend did it again with writing another book I couldn’t put down. I am falling in love with the Takhini wolves. In this story both Chase and Shelley are considered outcasts and flawed but to each other they discover they are perfect just the way they are.

Shelley is Caroline’s younger sister who has never been able to shift. As a child she was treated horribly by the pack. She escaped to the south and became a vet/shifter doctor. Now she is back on her own terms and won’t be bullied this time. Even with her big sister trying to fight her battles for her.

I really enjoyed Chase’s world. It was really unexpected to me. Chase is a crossbred so he lives out in the bush where he only comes to town for supplies once a year and miles away from his closest neighbor. He is used to his quiet life and it is about to get distrubed. On his way to town he gets an injury from a shifter that won’t heal. Call in the sexy Dr. Shelley!

I like when Chase takes Shelley into the bush to find the shifter who infected Chase. There are so many adventures for the two of them with sexual tension on the rise. I really liked some of the characters living in the bush that invades Chase’s quiet home when danger comes calling. Frank, Delton, and Jones who does not have much to say are just a few.
Evan and Caroline’s relationship is still very hot between the sheets but still not mates. I want to know where that is going because I like them both. They make me laugh.

However, the one to steal the show in the book was Enigma, the cutest kitten in the world making the strongest men her personal playthings. Some of the funniest scenes for me were the ones where Enigma is with Chase or Evan. Hilarious!

If a tree falls in the forest, duck…

Takhini Wolves, Book 2

Life in isolation is the safest place for Chase Johnson, a crossbreed who doesn’t know which form he’ll assume next—cougar or wolf. Once a year, his unelected position as spokesman for the Yukon outcasts forces him to visit civilization. This time he runs across someone unexpected. She’s not his mate, but she pushes all the right buttons.

It’s taken years for Shelley Bradley to gather the courage to return to her home pack. In spite of being the lowest of the low—a shifter who can’t shift—she’s determined to make a place for herself as the Whitehorse locals’ new vet-slash-doctor.

There’s definite electricity between her and Chase, but sex with fellow shifters and the inherent mind games got old a long time ago. Ignoring him seems best. When he shows up at her office with a wound that won’t heal, she’s stuck—yet drawn to solve this medical mystery.

As they journey deep into outcast territory in search of answers, their powerful sexual attraction crumbles her resistance. But time is of the essence. If a cure can’t be found before his human and cougar succumb to his injury, he—and others like him—will die.

Warning: Contains a silver-tongued, hairy-chested, lean-muscled Alpha who’s got what it takes to lead in the wilderness and in the bedroom. Yeah, I know…not really much of a deterrent, is it? Throw in continuing territorial wars and a domestic cat. Stir and enjoy the chaos.

Favorite Scene:

Evan wasn’t sneezing anymore, which Caroline figured was a good sign. He’d placed his paws up on the desktop and took an experimental sniff of the moving pile of fabric. Enigma was still playing happily in Evan’s shirt.
The pile stopped moving, and the tiny black head popped out a bit at a time. The little pink nose wiggled furiously. Then the muzzle, and the rest of the creature appeared as he crawled out the neckline of Evan’s shirt.
     Evan sniffed.
     Enigma meowed.
The kitten pounced, his tiny body landing on top of Evan’s forehead, legs wrapping around the wolf’s muzzle. For a moment Caroline thought Evan was going to toss his head to throw the offending creature into the air, but the big bad alpha remained absolutely still and allowed the tiny thing to scramble to a more solid perch.
Directly on top of his head.
If a wolf could sign with exasperation? That was the noise Evan made as he cautiously made his way to the couch and crawled onto it without distrubing his passenger. Caroline grabbed the files she needed and sat in the easy chair to the side, going through the information Evan had requested. All the while he was pinned in place by Enigma, who found a spot of sunshine on Evan’s neck, curled up and promptly fell asleep.

Review: Black Gold (Takhini Wolves, #1)

By Vivian Arend
Released September 13, 2011
Source: Review copy provided by Vivian Arend for review.

This is the first book in Vivian Arend’s new wolf series staring Shaun who we met before as a helicopter pilot for the Granite Lake Wolves. He is still just living life with no real goals but one night while with his alpha, Evan getting drunk he reveals he wants a mate. The way he meets his mate is pretty hilarious. The Takhini wolves all act like a bunch of rowdy frat boys and need some women to whip them into shape.

His mate, Gem, is a pampered princess from the south. Yes, a southern belle wolf, who would have thought. She wants to leave her very safe, comfortable rich life for a chance to be independent. She comes to the North as part of a research project. Gem is a very innocent wolf but not stupid. She knows this will be like nothing she has ever done, completely out of her comfort zone but she is very brave to do it.

Staun and Gem come from very different lives so they need to learn each other before they mark each other. Yes, they are mates but they still have a choice on whether to be together, sort of. I liked how they make mistakes with one another but learn from them.

However, my favorite couple/work relationship is Evan the alpha and Caroline, a human who works in the hotel. Caroline has enough of the female wolves causing trouble in the town trying to get Evan’s attention that she usually has to clean up. Her solution: move in and sleep with the very sexy Evan. She is one smart cookie.

Their wolves are howling at the moon. Their human halves are on different planets.

"Takhini Wolves, Book 1"

Lone wolf Shaun Stevens's automatic response to the words "happily ever after"? "Kill me now." Yet with all his friends settling down he's begun to think there may actually be something to this love-and-roses crap.

One thing's for sure: his dream mate will have to out-cuss, out-spit and out-hike him. So he never expected the one to push his forever button would be a blue-blooded Southern debutante with a voice as dark and velvety as her skin.

When Gemmita Jacobs steps off the plane in Whitehorse, Yukon, it's about more than her caribou research project. It's her declaration of independence from an overprotected upbringing. Except there's something in the air she can't quite define-something that unexpectedly rouses her mating instincts.

Moments after their eyes lock, the deed is done-and done thoroughly. When the pheromone dust settles, though, all the reasons they don't belong together become painfully clear.

It's enough to make a wolf learn a whole new set of cuss words...

Warning: Two strong wolves getting exactly what they deserve. Includes wilderness nookie, shifters being naughty in public places, the Midnight Sun as a canopy for seduction and grizzly shifters on the loose. Oh, and don't forget the sarcasm.

Fun Quote:
The kissing got a little rougher as she grabbed him by the jean pockets and tugged him closer. Just as it got interesting, there was a knock on the door.

“Go away,” Gem growled.

Shaun laughed. “Gem, this is Evan’s office.”

She rested her forehead on his chest. “Shoot. Forgot about that part.”

He opened the door to discover Evan leaning against the doorpost. “May I come in?”

Books and Blades Blog Tour

We are celebrating Shiloh Walker's newest release under her new pen name J.C. Daniels with an amazing excerpt from Blade Song her new urban fantasy story.

Tall guy. Blond, dirty. Looked like he hadn't bathed in a month. Stank like it, too.

“Maybe she hid up there, thinking to throw them off.”

Dirty-Blond sniggered. “Won't work. I bet she tried the swamps next. Hope not, though. Gators don't like cats being around them. If they get a bite of her...”

Another one, short and stumpy with stringy hair, shook his head. “She's still too strong. She won't get caught by a gator.” A smile split his face. “We'll be looking for her for a while. And if we catch her before the other team...”

Teams.

I studied each face. Committed them to memory.

I didn't mess with humans. I stayed away from them because they could bring too much trouble down on us.

But these weren't humans. Not if they were hunting kids.

That made them monsters.

“Come on. We need to get moving. If somebody else finds her, we have to pony up the dough. Not this time.”

They moved off into the woods. I settled deeper into the tree and drew my knees to my chest. Part of me wanted to climb down and go after them. If it hadn't been for the dogs, I might have.

I could take five humans.

But the dogs evened the odds in their favor just a little bit.

Too bad I hadn't brought my bow and arrow.

I wouldn't make that mistake again. Of course, if I'd realized we'd be dealing with something like this, I damn well would have brought it.

Live and learn, Kit. Live and learn.

Early Review: Impulse (Southern Arcana, #5)

By Moira Rogers

Digital Release Date: September 4th, 2012
Print Release Date: Summer/Fall 2013
Source: Review copy provided by Author Moria Rogers for review.

I could not wait to read Sera and Julio’s story when seeing how they reacted to each other when they were together in the previous book. Sera is a submissive coyote that loves the safety of a powerful alpha’s magic gives to her. However, after an abusive relationship with her ex-husband Josh she needs to say away from all men like that. One of such men is Julio, a powerful wolf alpha who only wants to protect and take responsibility for those around them.

I wish I could move to New Orleans and hangout with people in the supernatural community. Reading this series makes me want to be apart of the big crazy family web they created. For example, Julio is the brother of Carmen who married Alec who is the Alpha of the Southest territory and Julio is also apart of the council. Carmen works as a doctor in shifter clinics with Franklin, an alpha coyote who is Sera’s overprotective father. Everyone cares for each other in New Orleans but outside of their home all these relationships become a problem.

When Julio takes Sera on a road trip to get away from the troubles of her ex-husband they quickly realize there are a lot of issues for this new relationship. Some are other shifter’s prejudice because they think it is taboo for a wolf and a coyote to be together. Some are Sera’s personal issues as a submissive shifter as a lover to a dominant alpha. I love how considerate Julio is about all Sera’s concerns. He wants her to just be, not be who she thinks she is supposed to be. Who could ask for a better guy? Julio also has some issues after being tortured in the last book that Sera’s understanding and submissive magic helps him through. I really liked there relationship.

Now for the next book I am hoping we get Anna and Patrick’s love connection and I hope Victoria drinks some more men under the table. I love this series and hope there are many more books and novella in its future.

Sera Sinclaire is a New Orleans rarity: a submissive coyote trapped in a town overrun by dominant shapeshifters. Worse, she lacks the willpower to deny the alphas-in-shining-armor who need her soothing presence, even when their protectiveness threatens to crush her hard-won self-reliance.

The only shifter she doesn't want to push away is Julio Mendoza, a wolf so dominant he's earned a place on the Southeast council.

Julio doesn't have the luxury of indulging in the vacation his psychic shrink insists he needs. He can't turn his back on responsibilities he's beginning to wish he'd never shouldered. When an obsessive ex endangers Sera, though, instinct drives him to get her out of town. Watching her come to life outside the city makes him feel like he's finally done something right, and her touch ignites desire he doesn't want to ignore.

But soon, light-hearted flirting becomes a dangerous game of seduction, where every day spent falling into each other is another day avoiding the truth. Sera's ex isn't the only one who'd disapprove of their relationship. There are wolves who would kill to get Sera out of Julio's life--starting with his own blood kin.

Warning: Contains endless summer road trips, family drama, redneck werewolves, sexual power games and a taboo love affair between a submissive coyote who's among the last of her kind and a dominant wolf who loves his heroine's ass. Literally.

Favorite Scene:

Sera loaded the new ammunition and held up the gun. “I bet I can hit closer to the bulls-eye than you can.”

Her victory came to him on a flash, right down to the cute little dance he was sure was last popular in the nineties. “Sucker bet, sunshine. Never wager with a precog.”

“So cheat.” She grinned. “You haven’t even hear the terms yet. If you win, I’ll let you buy me a pretty dress and take me out for a fancy dinner.”

“And if I lose?”

“I get a cheap bar, beer, and hot wings, and dirty sex in the bathroom.”

Julio cleared his throat, took the gun from her and winked. “Like I said, sucker bet.”

“Uh-huh.” As she stepped behind him, she trailed her fingers up his arm. “I’m bad news, mister. I hope you can handle me.”

“I’ll try.” He lined up a shot, squeezed the trigger and snorted when the bullet went wide. “I told you I suck at this.”

She laughed and retrieved the gun to line up her shot with adorable concentration that furrowed her brows. Her shot wasn’t perfect, but it winged the target, and her victory dance was just as cute as it had been in his vision.

Movie Monday: Updates

Kim Harrison announced "CW Passes on Hollows for 2012-2013 Season" on her blog.
"Also, I finally got notice Friday that CW has passed on moving forward on the Hollows for the 2012-2013 season.  The official word is that they will be making decisions in the next two weeks as what might happen to the projects they passed on, and I’m assuming that means they will be deciding whether to stick it on a back burner or simply toss it out the backdoor. I’ve not seen a pilot script, so I’ve no idea how far it got before it was dropped.  To be honest, I’m not looking for them to do anything with it in the time they have available before the rights revert back to me"
Rachel Caine gave an multimedia update.
“As always, there is a lot of interest swirling around Morganville on TV and in film, but sometimes these things can take years to come together … in the meantime, we’re working on some cool alternative outlets that we should be able to talk about in the next 12 months! Stay tuned. Almost literally.”

MTV Rough Cut: The Host

Check out all 7 clips of MTV Rough Cut: The Host.

In these clips you see some of the set. The caves look amazing. I agree with Stephanie that it is right out of her imagination and what she put in my mind with her writing.

I really hope the next thing Stephanie writes is the sequel to The Host because I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see the movie.

I was a little upset when Stephanie said she isn’t working on Midnight Sun but I completely understand her being tired of vampires even if I am not. I wouldn’t want her to write anything if her heart wasn’t in it.

Cover Love: Fury's Kiss

I can't wait for the third book in Karen Chance's
Midnight's Daughter (Dorina Basarab) series.
Fury's Kiss will come out October 2, 2012. Dorina looks very kickass!

Dorina Basarab is a dhampir—half-human, half-vampire. Subject to uncontrollable rages, most dhampirs live very short, very violent lives. But so far, Dory has managed to maintain her sanity by unleashing her anger on those demons and vampires who deserve killing...

Dory is used to fighting hard and nasty. So when she wakes up in a strange scientific lab with a strange man standing over her, her first instinct is to take his head off. Luckily, the man is actually the master vampire Louis-Cesare, so he’s not an easy kill.

It turns out that Dory had been working with a Vampire Senate task force on the smuggling of magical items and weaponry out of Faerie when she was captured and brought to the lab. But when Louis-Cesare rescues her, she has no memory of what happened to her.

To find out what was done to her—and who is behind it—Dory will have to face off with fallen angels, the maddest of mad scientists, and a new breed of vampires that are far worse than undead…

Review: Tomorrow Land

By: Mari Mancusi
Releases March 8, 2012
Source: Review copy provided by NetGalley for review.

This was an exciting dystopian adventure by Mari Mancusi that I could not put down. It is set in 2030 so there are some futuristic concepts that are really cool but don’t get used to them because it-the-end-of-the-world. Peyton Anderson is a very interesting heroine. All she wants to be popular, shop, have a hot boyfriend but she has the nutty father who is planning for the apocalypse. He has her training in martial arts, not allowing her to have the newest technology or her LTF (Liscense to F…) as the kids in the book call it. Yes on of the concepts in 2030 is the government regulates who can breed and have sex.

The hero of the book is Chris/Chase who is the nerdy boy down the street and have a massive crush on Peyton. He has his own strengths and weakness he overcomes through the book. He has a very funny and take charge of the situation brother named Trey/Tank. After the apocalypse they all got new names based on what they were known for. Trey is as big as a tank. They have a moply crew of kids they have found and need to take care of.

I liked how Mari Mancusi wrote the book as every other chapter being before the apocalypse and then present tense 4 years later. It made it so the reader never knew about Peyton and Chris’s past history while their present was already happening. It made so that to the very end we never knew all the answers of their past.

Can true love survive the end of the world?

Imagine finding your first love, only to be ripped apart by the apocalypse. Peyton Anderson will never forget the day she was forced to make a choice--between her family--and Chris Parker, the boy she'd given her heart. Now, four years later, as she steps from the fallout shelter and into a dead and broken world, he's the only thing on her mind.

All Chris "Chase" Parker wanted was to take Peyton away and keep her safe from harm. But he waited for hours in the rain on judgment day and she never showed--breaking his heart without ever telling him why.

Now the two of them have been thrown together once again, reluctant chaperones to a group of orphan children in a post-apocalyptic world where the dead still walk...and feed. As they begin their pilgramage to the last human outpost on Earth, can they find a way to let go of old hurts and find the love they lost--all while attempting to save what's left of the human race?

Review: Witch Witch (Coven series, #1)

By: Trish Milburn
Releases March 1, 2012
Source: Review copy provided by NetGalley for review.

Trish Milburn is a new author for me and I was not disappointed. This is a new series about a girl trying to escape her family/coven. She is a witch but does not want to use her powers for evil so she runsaway. She wants a normal life, school, friends, prom, and maybe a boyfriend. However, Jax is anything but normal.

Jax is starting high school for the first time and it is like scenes from Mean Girls. You have three pretty yet bitchy girls who are cruel to Jax since she is the newest prettiest girl in school getting all the attention. Jax is supernaturally pretty but she only has eyes for Keller. I love the idea of love at first sight and that what these two have. Everyone around them recognizes it too. I liked the core group of friends Jax does make. Toni is a little spitfire with pink stripes in her hair. Keller is her cousin and supernatural hunter. Eric and Paige are very sweet to her too.
This book had everything it needed and was not drawn out. It was 188 pages so everything moves pretty quick but it doesn’t feel rushed. I liked the pase and can’t wait for the next book.

Witchcraft Is Her Family’s Business.

No One Quits The Family And Lives To Tell About It.

“Jax” Pherson has power, enough power to know her future will end in service to the dark coven her father controls. Unless she can stay hidden in a small community in the mountains of North Carolina. She must find a way to live without magic and deny the darkness she feels welling up inside her—the same dark power that fuels the covens around the world. All she wants is a normal life. A boyfriend. Friends. Some place to belong, but all too soon Jax’s barely begun new life hangs in the balance when she discovers that the boy she’s attracted to is sworn to kill her kind. He’s a hunter with good reason to kill everything that goes bump in the night. Even the most fleeting use of her power is tantamount to signing her death warrant and will bring both hunter and coven down on her. But can she walk away when her friends are threatened by an old evil? Something created by the magic of witches? Jax’s only hope of survival is to convince the boy she loves to forget everything he’s ever been taught and help her find a way to fight the covens. To believe there is some good in her.

 Favorite Quote:
“Okay, okay, we get it. You two really like each other,” Egan says. He nudges Keller aside. “It’s my turn. I think I have a date up there somewhere.”

Bit Toni doesn’t appear at the top of the stairs.

“Toni?” I say.

“Come out, come out, wherever you are,” Egan adds.

“She’s, uh…I’ll go get her.” I don’t want to reveal how nervous Toni is. That will put too much importance on this date, on Egan.

“Nah, I’ll go get her.” Egan bounds up the stairs.

What If? A Merit and Ethan scene

I found this on Chloe Neill's blog. I love Merit and the Chicago world she lives in.

"This is a scene I wrote four or five years ago.
It is a sketch of how events might have transpired after a very, very angry Merit discovered her father had paid Ethan to make her a vampire. Unlike in the books, this scene supposes Ethan accepted the money."

Review: Cipher (Southern Arcana, #4)

By Moira Rogers
Release Date: August 07, 2012 (print)
Source: Review copy provided by Author Moria Rogers for review.

Fans of Moira Rogers’s Southern Arcana series are jumping for joy now that Kat and Andrew finally got their story. I have been waiting for this since meeting them and their easy going flirtatious relationship. All that went to hell when Kat and Andrew were attacked and they both were too dangerous to be together. It broke my heart knowing they belonged together. Both were in so much pain being a part.

Now, they have had time a part to learn their powers and how to have control over them. Andrew has used that time to learn skills to keep Kat safe. Kat has avoided Andrew because it is so hard to be around him and learning from Zola defense skills so she is capable of protecting herself. However, when she is digging into her mother’s past she needs Andrew’s help. It starts them down a path neither of them expected. There is action, pain, tears, passion, and a budding relationship.

I loved the way Kat and Andrew knew they had to get over their devastating past in order to have a future. I thought they both were incredibly strong to realize they aren’t the easy-going architect and geeky computer student anymore. They are a strong alpha wolf and extremely powerful empath that love each other. The way they got over relationship road blocks was amazing. I truly love their relationship. They both realize what each other needs and not blame each other for it. Like how protective Andrew is, his wolf instinct can’t be helped and Kat knows it so she does not fight it.

Before this book I didn’t who the next stories would be about but now I do and I can’t wait. Both future couples should be just as fabulous. Great job Moira!

Fourteen months ago, Kat Gabriel's life changed forever when she used her empathy as a weapon. Now she can't escape the weight of those deaths--or the loss of the easy friendship she and Andrew once shared. Obsessed with her mother's violent past, Kat is determined to learn the truth of her inner-darkness by understanding her legacy.

Since the attack that turned him into a wolf, Andrew Callaghan has done everything possible to make himself stronger. More capable of protecting Kat--both from the supernatural world that forced her to kill, and from their own volatile connection. Pushing her away hurt them both, but he's finally made himself into the protector she needs.

As Kat's quest leads her into the darkest underbelly of the psychic world, Andrew is determined to be at her side. But every step forward reopens old emotional wounds and shakes their control. For a dangerous alpha and a deadly psychic, distraction could be fatal--especially when the greatest threat they pose is to each other.

Movie Review: One for the Money

Oh Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl)…I so could be a bounty hunter too. I went with my family today to see Janet Evanovich’s One For the Money based off the first book in her Stephanie Plum series. I loved the movie. I think the casting was perfect. Joe Morelli (Jason O’Mare) and Ranger (Daniel Sunjata) were very hot and fit into their roles very well. I enjoyed Lula (Sherri Shepard), Grandma Mazur (Debbie Reynolds), Mrs. Plum (Debra Monk), and the creep Vinnie (Patrick Fischler).

I thought the screenwriters did an excellent job keeping with the original book. Some changes but none that bothered me. I got worried at the end when the final scene wasn’t going down like the book but all turned out ok since Joe Morelli still ended up in the back of the truck. It was great.

Does anyone know if they will make anymore of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum movies? I would definitely be going to see them.

Early Review: A Perfect Storm

By Lori Foster
Releases March 27, 2012
Source: Review copy provided by NetGalley for review.

Fans of the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series you will not be disappointed in this latest installment. It might be my favorite so far.

Arizona got a story? Oh ya I loved Arizona when we met her in Savor the Danger. Jackson rescued her when human trafficiers threw her over a bridge so she would drown to death but I never thought she would get her own story. I am so glad she did. Dare, Trace, and Jackson treat her like a troublesome but loved little sister but Spencer doesn’t. He may believe he is too old for her but that does not stop his thoughts about her sexually.

Spencer wants to help heal Arizona’s emotional scars. She is unable to think that sex or anything in a relationship can be good or pleasurable. Spencer is determined to change her mind. I loved the bet he made with her. It was brilliant. Everytime Arizona cursed, she owned him a kiss. Arizona is determined not to curse but she is not perfect. It’s great.

This book had the two main characters grow emotionally while trying to end another human trafficking ring that Arizona uncovered. She wants Spencer as a partner to take them down because she sees him as an equal. Now all the boys need to realize what the fabulous Chris already knew. Arizona is capable of protecting herself and how her life has shaped her into a strong woman. It is a fun to see Jackson and Spencer squirm until they do.

Favorite Quote:
“I want to make a bet with you.”
Her interest perked up. “You do? About what?”
Already knowing it wouldn’t go over well, Spencer braced himself. “I bet you can’t go a month without cursing.”
Her chin tucked in, and her brows came down. “What does that have to do with anything?”
He had no idea, except that it annoying him to hear her be so coarse. “Go a month without cursing.” He hated himself, but he said, “Every time you slip, you owe me a kiss.”

He never saw her coming…

Spencer Lark already knows too many secrets about Arizona Storm, including the nightmare she survived and her resulting trust issues. But in order to expose a smuggling ring—and continue avenging his own tragic past—the bounty hunter reluctantly agrees to make Arizona a decoy. Yet nothing has equipped him for her hypnotic blend of fragility and bravery, or for the protective instincts she stirs in him.

Arizona wants to reclaim her life, which means acting as bait to lure the enemy into a trap. Sure it's dangerous, especially with a partner as distractingly appealing as Spencer. But as their plan—and their chemistry—shifts into high gear, Arizona may discover there's an even greater risk in surrendering her heart to a hero
