Nalini Singh is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait for her collection of Psy-Changeling novellas in Wild Invitation: 4 stories in which 2 previously published and 2 brand spanking new! Set for release March 5, 2013.
Beat of Temptation (#0.5, Psy/changeling) was originally published in An Enchanted Season. Stroke of Enticement, (#3.5, Psy/changeing) was originally published in The Magical Christmas Cat. I have read both of these and love them so I will love to read them again.
In Beat of Temptation , innocent Tamsyn has always had a place in her heart for Nathan, a blooded DarkRiver sentinel. But is she ready for the fierce demands of the mating bond?
In Stroke of Enticement , a wary young teacher, skeptical about love, arouses the man—and the animal—in an aggressive leopard changeling who must prove his affections are true.
Plus 2 NEVER BEFORE PUBLISHED NOVELLAS
In Declaration of Courtship , Grace, a shy submissive wolf, finds herself pursued by the last man she ever would have imagined: a SnowDancer lieutenant said to be “mad, bad, and dangerous to know.”
In Texture of Intimacy, SnowDancer healer Lara discovers the searing joys—and unexpected challenges—of being mated to quiet, powerful Walker, a man used to keeping his silence.

Divergent, on her blog this weekend.

The first big item was the movie has a director.
Neil Burger directed movies such as The Illusionist and Limitless.
Casting:
Second, Shailene Woodley is in negotiations to play Tris.
I think she looks the part and even though I haven't seen her act much
I think she seems like a good actress on The Secret Life of an American Teenager.

Early Review: Silver Mine (Takhini Wolves, #2)
By Vivian Arend
Source: Review copy provided by Vivian Arend for review.
Vivian Arend did it again with writing another book I couldn’t put down. I am falling in love with the Takhini wolves. In this story both Chase and Shelley are considered outcasts and flawed but to each other they discover they are perfect just the way they are.
Shelley is Caroline’s younger sister who has never been able to shift. As a child she was treated horribly by the pack. She escaped to the south and became a vet/shifter doctor. Now she is back on her own terms and won’t be bullied this time. Even with her big sister trying to fight her battles for her.
I really enjoyed Chase’s world. It was really unexpected to me. Chase is a crossbred so he lives out in the bush where he only comes to town for supplies once a year and miles away from his closest neighbor. He is used to his quiet life and it is about to get distrubed. On his way to town he gets an injury from a shifter that won’t heal. Call in the sexy Dr. Shelley!
I like when Chase takes Shelley into the bush to find the shifter who infected Chase. There are so many adventures for the two of them with sexual tension on the rise. I really liked some of the characters living in the bush that invades Chase’s quiet home when danger comes calling. Frank, Delton, and Jones who does not have much to say are just a few.
Evan and Caroline’s relationship is still very hot between the sheets but still not mates. I want to know where that is going because I like them both. They make me laugh.
However, the one to steal the show in the book was Enigma, the cutest kitten in the world making the strongest men her personal playthings. Some of the funniest scenes for me were the ones where Enigma is with Chase or Evan. Hilarious!
If a tree falls in the forest, duck…
Takhini Wolves, Book 2
Life in isolation is the safest place for Chase Johnson, a crossbreed who doesn’t know which form he’ll assume next—cougar or wolf. Once a year, his unelected position as spokesman for the Yukon outcasts forces him to visit civilization. This time he runs across someone unexpected. She’s not his mate, but she pushes all the right buttons.
There’s definite electricity between her and Chase, but sex with fellow shifters and the inherent mind games got old a long time ago. Ignoring him seems best. When he shows up at her office with a wound that won’t heal, she’s stuck—yet drawn to solve this medical mystery.
As they journey deep into outcast territory in search of answers, their powerful sexual attraction crumbles her resistance. But time is of the essence. If a cure can’t be found before his human and cougar succumb to his injury, he—and others like him—will die.
Warning: Contains a silver-tongued, hairy-chested, lean-muscled Alpha who’s got what it takes to lead in the wilderness and in the bedroom. Yeah, I know…not really much of a deterrent, is it? Throw in continuing territorial wars and a domestic cat. Stir and enjoy the chaos.
Favorite Scene:
It’s taken years for Shelley Bradley to gather the courage to return to her home pack. In spite of being the lowest of the low—a shifter who can’t shift—she’s determined to make a place for herself as the Whitehorse locals’ new vet-slash-doctor.

Favorite Scene:
Evan wasn’t sneezing anymore, which Caroline figured was a good sign. He’d placed his paws up on the desktop and took an experimental sniff of the moving pile of fabric. Enigma was still playing happily in Evan’s shirt.
The pile stopped moving, and the tiny black head popped out a bit at a time. The little pink nose wiggled furiously. Then the muzzle, and the rest of the creature appeared as he crawled out the neckline of Evan’s shirt.
Evan sniffed.
Enigma meowed.
The kitten pounced, his tiny body landing on top of Evan’s forehead, legs wrapping around the wolf’s muzzle. For a moment Caroline thought Evan was going to toss his head to throw the offending creature into the air, but the big bad alpha remained absolutely still and allowed the tiny thing to scramble to a more solid perch.
Directly on top of his head.
If a wolf could sign with exasperation? That was the noise Evan made as he cautiously made his way to the couch and crawled onto it without distrubing his passenger. Caroline grabbed the files she needed and sat in the easy chair to the side, going through the information Evan had requested. All the while he was pinned in place by Enigma, who found a spot of sunshine on Evan’s neck, curled up and promptly fell asleep.

Review: Black Gold (Takhini Wolves, #1)
By Vivian Arend
Released September 13, 2011
Staun and Gem come from very different lives so they need to learn each other before they mark each other. Yes, they are mates but they still have a choice on whether to be together, sort of. I liked how they make mistakes with one another but learn from them.
However, my favorite couple/work relationship is Evan the alpha and Caroline, a human who works in the hotel. Caroline has enough of the female wolves causing trouble in the town trying to get Evan’s attention that she usually has to clean up. Her solution: move in and sleep with the very sexy Evan. She is one smart cookie.
Their wolves are howling at the moon. Their human halves are on different planets.
"Takhini Wolves, Book 1"
Lone wolf Shaun Stevens's automatic response to the words "happily ever after"? "Kill me now." Yet with all his friends settling down he's begun to think there may actually be something to this love-and-roses crap.
It's enough to make a wolf learn a whole new set of cuss words...
Warning: Two strong wolves getting exactly what they deserve. Includes wilderness nookie, shifters being naughty in public places, the Midnight Sun as a canopy for seduction and grizzly shifters on the loose. Oh, and don't forget the sarcasm.

This is the first book in Vivian Arend’s new wolf series staring Shaun who we met before as a helicopter pilot for the Granite Lake Wolves. He is still just living life with no real goals but one night while with his alpha, Evan getting drunk he reveals he wants a mate. The way he meets his mate is pretty hilarious. The Takhini wolves all act like a bunch of rowdy frat boys and need some women to whip them into shape.
His mate, Gem, is a pampered princess from the south. Yes, a southern belle wolf, who would have thought. She wants to leave her very safe, comfortable rich life for a chance to be independent. She comes to the North as part of a research project. Gem is a very innocent wolf but not stupid. She knows this will be like nothing she has ever done, completely out of her comfort zone but she is very brave to do it.

One thing's for sure: his dream mate will have to out-cuss, out-spit and out-hike him. So he never expected the one to push his forever button would be a blue-blooded Southern debutante with a voice as dark and velvety as her skin.
When Gemmita Jacobs steps off the plane in Whitehorse, Yukon, it's about more than her caribou research project. It's her declaration of independence from an overprotected upbringing. Except there's something in the air she can't quite define-something that unexpectedly rouses her mating instincts.
Moments after their eyes lock, the deed is done-and done thoroughly. When the pheromone dust settles, though, all the reasons they don't belong together become painfully clear.
It's enough to make a wolf learn a whole new set of cuss words...

Fun Quote:
The kissing got a little rougher as she grabbed him by the jean pockets and tugged him closer. Just as it got interesting, there was a knock on the door.
“Go away,” Gem growled.
Shaun laughed. “Gem, this is Evan’s office.”
She rested her forehead on his chest. “Shoot. Forgot about that part.”
He opened the door to discover Evan leaning against the doorpost. “May I come in?”

Tall guy. Blond, dirty. Looked like he hadn't bathed in a month. Stank like it, too.
“Maybe she hid up there, thinking to throw them off.”
Dirty-Blond sniggered. “Won't work. I bet she tried the swamps next. Hope not, though. Gators don't like cats being around them. If they get a bite of her...”
Another one, short and stumpy with stringy hair, shook his head. “She's still too strong. She won't get caught by a gator.” A smile split his face. “We'll be looking for her for a while. And if we catch her before the other team...”
Teams.
I studied each face. Committed them to memory.
I didn't mess with humans. I stayed away from them because they could bring too much trouble down on us.
But these weren't humans. Not if they were hunting kids.
That made them monsters.
“Come on. We need to get moving. If somebody else finds her, we have to pony up the dough. Not this time.”
They moved off into the woods. I settled deeper into the tree and drew my knees to my chest. Part of me wanted to climb down and go after them. If it hadn't been for the dogs, I might have.
I could take five humans.
But the dogs evened the odds in their favor just a little bit.
Too bad I hadn't brought my bow and arrow.
I wouldn't make that mistake again. Of course, if I'd realized we'd be dealing with something like this, I damn well would have brought it.
Live and learn, Kit. Live and learn.
